About Advocates for Autism
Advocates for Autism empowers autistic individuals and young adults with autism to build confident, independent lives. Through job training, life-skills coaching, and inclusive community programs, we create spaces where neurodivergent people and their families feel seen, supported, and truly welcome.
What We Do
Job Training
Our job training programs help autistic teens and young adults explore strengths, practice workplace skills, and prepare for meaningful employment. From interview preparation to on-the-job support, we walk alongside each person as they step into the workforce with confidence.
Life Skills Coaching
Our life-skills sessions focus on everyday independence—things like budgeting, time management, cooking, transportation, and self-advocacy. We break tasks into manageable steps and celebrate progress at each stage.
Family & Peer Support
No one should have to navigate autism alone. We connect autistic individuals, parents, and caregivers with a compassionate community where they can share experiences, exchange resources, and know they are understood.
Ongoing Mentorship
Our mentors offer consistent check-ins, encouragement, and guidance as autistic individuals move through school, work, and life transitions. We focus on building self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of belonging that lasts.
Programs in Action
Community Events
We host sensory-aware, inclusive events where autistic children, teens, and adults can connect, try new activities, and build friendships in a low-pressure environment. These gatherings help reduce isolation and strengthen our local autism community.
Mentorship & Advocacy
Our mentors help autistic youth and adults find their voice—at school, at work, and in the community. We also provide education and advocacy to businesses and partners who want to become more autism-friendly and inclusive.
Skill-Building Workshops
Our workshops blend practical skills with social and communication practice. We focus on real-world scenarios—like navigating interviews, collaborating on a team, or managing a daily schedule—to support long-term employment and life success for autistic individuals.
Join Our Community
